How this usually goes
Land revenue work begins and ends with the record of rights: the maintained entry of who holds a parcel, on what terms, and from when. We advise on mutation of entries following a transfer, an inheritance (fouti) or partition, issue of sale certificates, resolution of ghat-wadh (shortage and excess in area), and correction of survey and settlement records. Where an entry is erroneous or disputed, we represent clients before the Mukhtiarkar, Assistant Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, and on appeal or revision before the Board of Revenue.
